Saturday sees the culmination of the 2025 Dubai Carnival with the World Cup card, worth over $30million.
Course Guide
The Meydan track is a left-handed oval with chutes provided for various distances (see map). The Tapeta all-weather surface was replaced by dirt before the 2014/15 season; it is just under 9f in circumference with a 2f home straight. The turf course sits outside the dirt track and is 1½m in distance with a slightly longer run-in. Both courses are essentially flat, though the bends are banked, and both are very wide and fair, too.
The card kicks off with the $1million Arabian Classic, and ends with the Dubai World Cup. Please note, we have left the distances in metric in accordance with the map.

Not a race we have much value in terms of the winner at a short 11/8. Last years champion comes here again and top weight shouldn't be enough to stop this impressive horse. Although he proved in January he is not unbeatable when finishing second to Hadi De Carrere in the Obaiya Classic. We will opt each way for two at bigger prices. Interestingly the stable that downed the champion have entered First Classs here and at 20/1 with Connor Beasley on board he could run in to a place. Another interest one at a big price is Djafar with De Sousa set to ride. Won last time out over the mile and is sure to enjoy a step up in trip here.
0.5 EW - First Class 20/1 (CORAL, LADBROKES, PADDY AND BETFAIR GOING 4 PLACES)
0.25 EW - Djafar 40/1 (CORAL, LADBROKES, PADDY AND BETFAIR GOING 4 PLACES)

A race in which I am very excited to see Trawlerman who is 5lb well in on official ratings here. Having lost twice in this race you could say that his time has past but the ultra consistent horse is with a yard who have started this season far better than previous years. Continuous is in here for powerhouse of Aiden O'Brien trying 2 miles for the first time and is not taking lighly for a yard who have won this the last twice.
1pt win - Trawlerman 4/1

Frankie is back on our screens here and rides Raging Torrent. The horse has won 4 out of his last 5 starts, the latest of those at Santa anita where he was drawn wide but quickly over to cover the leading moves. This was a performance that showed he is capable from anywhere on the track and Frankie will be here to put recent bad press behind him.
1pt - Raging Torrent 3/1

A wide open race and not one I would recommend a strong bet in. At Meydan it pays to be drawn wide in what usually turn in to very tactical races. That said Believing in stall one is going to have a yard time but is very capable on form. West Acre for the Scott team has a lovely draw in stall 11 and Callum Shephard is a young jockey with plenty talent. At the bottom of the weights we could have a live chance at 9/2. Audience is the top rated in this race and in stall 10 will be handy but needs to bounce back to better form than shown this season.

i've been impressed with one horse in this since I saw him make his debut at Southwell and the headway he made late on to finish 2nd. Learning all the time and has since spent the season in Dubai winning twice and runner up twice. Never outside the top 2 in 5 starts I am keen to have ago on this horse. I've always rated Saffie Osbourne as the top female rider and today its a family afair riding for her Dad in Dubai.

Not a race to spend too much time on. The fav Straight no Chaser is a very strong chance and I think he takes all the beating here. Price is too short for me to open this up as a selective bet but strongest horse should win.

After keeping our powder dry in the last race we want to have a bit of a risky play here on a 50/1 shot for Karl Burke and his team. Holloway Boy is a lovely horse who was narrowly beating by Poker Face her in Meydan before finishing 3rd behind Romantic Warrior. A big ask for this ultra consistent horse to suggest he will win but we will get a great run for our money from this former Royal Ascot winner.

Calandagan is a fantastic horse with plenty ones to his name and the two's when chasing home the inredible City of Troy. Expected to go well again but the price is short for a horse whohasn't actually won a race since June when collecting the King Edwards stakes. My suggesting is that Rebel's Romance off the back of another breeders cup win could be a big danger and at 4/1 I would side with him but it's not a race we will get stuck in to.

The final race is all about one horse. Forever Young who so off Romantic Warrior last time and goes here at odds on to pick up 6,920,002 AED. Walk of stars is most liekly to go off in front and you wouldn't want to give this horse an easy lead out here. He might not be for catching if they let him get away.
